The kiddo Sngs no. 2 and 3 turned 3 and 1 this month, and we had a birthday celebration for them!
SInce we were celebrating 2 birthdays, we needed 2 themes of course. And Hello Kitty x Sesame Street was the perfect choice!

While they were getting ready for the party, Joanie was insisting on putting on her Elmo shirt instead of her kitty outfit to match gorgor and didi (She hadn't seen papa in his kitty shirt). Took a lot of convincing from ah ma before she put on her kitty outfit (thanks mum!)
Dressed for the theme! Papa wanted a Hello Kitty shirt and I couldn't find one that would ship in time. So, we did the next best thing, which was get some iron on paper from Popular, find a design that works and iron it on! I was in an Elmo face tank top, also an iron on. This was probably the better idea as we could print the exact design we wanted!
Goodies table with snacks & fun stuff for all the kiddos! Choc chip cookies (a must have at any Sesame Street party), cheese goldfish, m&ms, Hello Kitty marshmallows, organic lollipops & sweets for the older kiddos; baby bites, Gerber puffs & pouch food for the younger ones.
Ps. Abby Cadabby went missing after the party :( If anyone's seen it, pls let me know

The cakes! Even though we wanted to have 2 cakes, I thought it'll be nice to have them linked in some way since it's a combined birthday, hence the Sesame Street streetlamp and buntings with Joash's & Joanie's names. Cookie monster & Elmo from our Sesame Street playskool set and Hello Kitty in an Elmo suit (made from fimo following the instructions here) topped the cakes, and paper wrapped book-like boxes (did the spines to the theme) to prop up Joanie's cake completed it!
The cakes are from Cedele - Choc Fudge & Apple Caramello. The Apple Caramello usually comes frosted with granola on the top, but we made a special request for it to be frosted smooth so we could place the toppers properly. Added some hundreds & thousands for extra colour.

What I really enjoyed doing is the photo wall. This is the almost complete wall (there's a rainbow off to the right and another cloud to the left + couple more pics) - half for Joash and half for Joanie. Strategically placed pics to cover up the pock marks in the wall :P
Some other stuff we did...
Took a group pic for the kiddos...was a crazy notion trying to get these many kids into the picture!
Can someone pls remind me to take more small group pics next time...I get so caught up with activity that I overlook that :(

Playdoh, colouring and bubbles to keep the kids entertained...we had some 'casualties' with the bubbles though :/
Directional signages
Also had a little dress up corner for the kids - make your own Sesame Street party hat kits, Hello Kitty ears (courtesy of this tutorial, and did a modification with soft hairbands for the under 1s) and face crayons. Josiah and Joanie went a little crazy with the face crayons as you can see from some of the photos. |
Thank you everyone who came to the party for being so generous with your time and gifts! And for those who sent me pics that have been used for this post. We hope you guys had fun :) Whatsapp me if you've any more pics pls.
Big thanks too to the grandparents, Jay, Sharon, Amber and Zhong for helping with the babysitting, cake collection, setup, packup, transport etc. As I mentioned, sisters-in-law's (& to be) are real gems!
